You've Divorced (part 1)

Divorce in Africa’s
like daybreaks
night comes;
so common these days

Men gain from it
women soon cope with it
knowingly unknowingly
the kids suffer the beat
a “bomfo” parenting
maltreatment
abandonment
scavengers, robbery kids
I can bet it
they’re the ones on the street

But in the days of yore
when eyes could not see beyond the next door,
divorcing was a great abomination.
